If you think this sounds like you, then read on how to get healthy hair naturally without buying one single product.

Forget the Heat, Embrace the Air

You can forget about hairdryers, hair straighteners, and even the sun’s heat. Heat for the hair means dryness that facilitates breakage. Instead of subjecting it to heat, try using air instead. Next time you step out of the shower, let the hair dry on its own. This way, you retain your moisture on it which it will be grateful for.

Shampooing Less

Ok, shampoo is not exactly natural, but the alternative is disgusting. Please, wash your hair. But do so only two times a week and no more. Shampooing does away with the filth of the hair as well with most moisture from it. Drying the hair this way many times a week is not good unless you wanna break it. Stop it. Limit the shampoo.

Also, check the ingredient list in every shampoo, is it has sulfate, silicone, or alcohol, drop it. It will only dry it out and make it look dull.

Brushing Right

Brush your hair every day using the right brush and technique. Those are a round brush with not-so-stiff strands and brushing motion that goes from the tips up to the root of the hair. This way you can avoid pulling it down accidentally.

Wear it Loose

A tight hairstyle puts constant stress at the hair follicle and might permanently damage it, rendering you bald in the long run. If you have to tie a ponytail, let the hairband gripping loosely.

DIY Hair Conditioner

Grab a bowl and mix 1/2 a cup of honey, egg yolk, and olive oil to create a really good deep conditioner. Apply it after bathing and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing it out. It will leave it as shiny as any brand label.

Cold Water Only

As you might have figured out, being dry if one of your hair’s pet peeves. Don’t do that to it. If you happen to like hot water, cover the hair properly on the shower, then use cold water for washing the hair only. Or, you know, bite the bullet and learn to love a cold water shower.

Use A Good Towel

Most bath towels are harsh with the hair as its fibres tangle with it. Microfiber towels don’t. Alternatively, you can use an old cotton T-shirt you don’t mind not wearing anymore. Try it and see the difference.

Silky Smooth sleep

You won’t believe it, but not even your pillow is playing along with you. Pillow sheets made from silk have little friction, making them less abrasive for the hair strands that rest on it. Get one!

Eat Right

Hair needs Iron, Zinc, and vitamins A, B, C, and E to look gorgeous. You can pretty much find all that in meat, fish, poultry, beans, and eggs. Incorporate them into your diet if you haven’t already.

Aloe Hair Mask

Work with nature directly! Take an aloe leaf and break it to get the translucent gel, then apply it to your hair gently from the root and down. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water. It will leave it shiny. You can do this two times a week if you like.

Seasonal Adjustments.

When it is sunny, wear a hat. When it is cold, make sure it is dry before going out. At the pool, well, avoid it if you can, it has chlorine which acts as a bleaching agent that will leave it dry.

Go For Trims

And do so regularly, long hair and short hair alike get split ends fairly often, which make it look unkept. Every six weeks, go for a trim. You can even do it yourself armed with a pair of scissors and much patience.
