Baldness and Hair Color

Without a doubt, one of the most important issues in the hair industry is hair loss. Scientists try to find out the reasons for hair loss, whereas hair clinics try to get rid of this problem with methods such as hair transplant. It is not easy to find the exact reason for hair loss as everybody experience it differently, at different times.

There is a new controversial issue. Does hair colour affect the balding process? Scientists believe that colour actually has an effect on hair loss. In this article, we are going to examine how natural hair colour increases or decreases hair loss level.

There is an average number of individual hairs in the human scalp. According to the statistics, there are approximately 120.000 hair strands on every person’s head. You may think that hair strands solely depend on the genetics of a person. However, hair colour has an effect on the number of hair strands.

Different hair colours have a different type of hair in terms of thickness (the type of hair strand) and density (number of hair strands in a random area). For instance, redheads usually have 90.000 individual hairs, which is the lowest number compared to other hair colours. Whereas, blonde-haired people have 150.000 individual hairs, which is the highest number. Those are the two extreme ends. The other hair colours are in between those two.

Hair colour affects not only the individual hair number on the scalp but also the thinning and loss percentage of hair. Colour of the hair is significant in terms of texture, density and even texture. For example, brunettes and redheads have more durable and thicker hair compared to blonde people. They tend to lose hair more easily, although they have finer hair than other people with different colours.

Hair colour and skin tone

This shows an interesting result in terms of hair loss. In spite of the fact that they have the highest number of strands, blonde people tend to experience hair loss more quickly. Furthermore, blond hair easily shows the bald spot as its a lighter tone than black and red. On the other hand, if you have a lighter skin tone but darker hair, it’s more likely that you baldness will be noticeable. As the contrast between skin tone and hair colour increases, hair loss becomes more visible. For example, if you are blond with black hair, even a small hair loss will be noticeable. Furthermore, their hair will look thinner since they don’t have matching skin and hair colour.

We did not write this article to scare you. No matter your hair colour, you can always find a solution for you. If you have mild hair loss, you can always try non-surgical methods. If you are bald, Turkey has highly experienced doctors and hair specialists for hair transplant. Even if you have undergone a hair transplant surgery before, there is still a solution for you, such as hair repair. Experienced clinics today offer countless treatments for hair loss with the best quality.
