FUE Hair Transplant Recovery Timeline

Although the healing process after the hair transplant varies from person to person, the symptoms of healing are generally observed within one to two weeks. One year after the operation, you can see the ultimate results. The healing process includes stages such as crusting, itching, redness, and shock shedding.

Since the FUE method does not make incisions on the scalp, the healing time of the donor area is relatively shorter. In FUE, as the grafts are removed individually using a micromotor, the healing of the donor site takes place within ten days.

Symptoms of Healing after Hair Transplantation

During the healing process after hair transplant, the person goes through certain stages and reaches the final result eventually. These indications observed after planting are of concern to most people. These symptoms are valid for everyone.   • Itching

Scabs occur on the scalp as the tissues are trying to heal themselves. It creates an itching on the head. Usually, it lasts for two weeks and diminishes gradually.

  • Redness

After the planting area is washed and peels away, a slight redness appears in the planting area. In time, it turns to a light pinkish colour and then turns to skin colour. Redness means that there are no obstacles to hair follicles. After this process, the new hair begins to grow significantly.

  • Shock hair loss

One-Year Recovery Process after the FUE Hair Transplant

  • 1 to 15 Days

The healing process actually begins right after the operation. The scabs are removed from the scalp with the help of a repetitive washing technique. Also, this wash makes the healing process faster. You should carry out the first wash with suggestions from your doctor. Gentle moves are necessary for a healthy postoperative process. Thanks to regular washing procedures, at the end of 15 days, the hair is completely free of scabs and red appearance.

  • 15 Days to 3 Months

The redness is seen in everyone after the operation without exception. This is an indication that the target area completely healed. During the first three months, the patient experiences shock shedding, which is another sign of the healing process, which lasts about a month. This process is a precursor to the emergence of healthier hair.

  • 3 to 6 Months

With the end of the shock loss, active growth in the hair continues. The growing hair may cause slight itching again.

  • 6 to 9 Months

Almost 70 percent of the transplanted hair becomes visible. Moreover, the planting area becomes completely healed. Treatments such as mesotherapy for nourishing hair follicles can be easily applied to the planting area.

  • 9 to 12 months
