Hair Loss Symptoms

Hair loss symptoms that precede the falling of your hair and continue even during hair shedding are few and very easy to identify. The presence of these symptoms you are suffering makes the identifying your type of hair loss faster.

Common hair loss symptoms include the following:

  • Burning sensation right before hair loss
  • Itching and soreness on the location of the hair loss
  • Bald patches that are scaly, they might also have a blister, sores, or ooze pus
  • Red swollen area, accompanied by sores that might or might not leak pus
  • Scaly, reddish patches from psoriasis, which often affects the scalp

It is not uncommon for many hair loss symptoms to overlap with one another. This is due to the similar pathogens of many conditions associated with it. Knowing the pattern of your hair loss helps in accurately identifying its causes.

Hair Loss Symptoms and Patterns

The hair loss symptoms you present can vary depending on which type of hair loss pattern you have. If you notice hair loss, knowing the pattern in which you suffer it helps identify its causes much faster.

The hair loss symptoms are different for each of these patterns:

  • Thinning. This is the most common one. It appears on men as a gradual thinning on the front of the hairline, making it recede back, revealing more of the scalp. In women, it is instead located at the top of the head, in the crown, where the hair parts are.
  • Bald spots. They are circular in shape. Numerous spots may appear close to one another and end up making a bigger bald spot. Depending on its causes, it might bring itching or pain at the touch of it before the hair falls out.
  • Shock loss. Any psychological or physical shock experienced by the patient can make handfuls of hair to loosen up. These will fall at the slightest touch or the next time you comb.
  • Scaly patches: It is a sign of infection identifiable due to red scaly patches that appear. It causes the hair to fall on the area and might also present swelling.
  • Complete hair loss. It is often the result of certain drugs such as those used in chemotherapy reacting with the body. It reverses once the medication is stopped.

In most cases, you can reverse hair loss by treating the underlying causes or diseases responsible for it. The sole exception is thinning due to male pattern baldness or females pattern baldness, which is permanent. However, a hair transplant procedure can correct it.

Hair Transplant Procedure

Once the hair is gone due to male or female pattern baldness, it’s gone forever. This is due to our body’s reaction to a hormone known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT binds itself to our hair follicles, causing them to shrink until they grow no more progressively.

To solve this, scientists and researchers developed the FUE hair transplant procedure. In it, the surgeon extracts healthy hair follicles from the back of the scalp.

Those are then grafted into the balding area via microincisions. Once in place, they will grow following the natural growth pattern of your hair, giving you natural-looking results. A hair transplant is a definitive and permanent answer to hair loss.

Our FUE hair transplant procedures are affordable and high quality, performed only by certified surgeons. Contact us if you want to know more about this solution.
