Joey Lawrence Hair Transplant

Actor, singer, game show host, and quintessential ’90s teenage heartthrob, Joey Lawrence sure is a handsome lad. Known for being the energetic Joey from the Blossom show, Lawrence is also known for his flowing golden locks of hair.

He had been sporting a blond mane since before his Blossom days, and after it, when he ventured into making pop songs with sexy music videos. It would have been unthinkable for people back then even to imagine that Joey Lawrence might be balding at some point.

Well, that is no longer the case and has been so for a while now. Joey started sporting a shaved head around 2007 but has also appeared with a rather curious hairline on occasion.

These sent the speculation machine into overdrive about a possible Joey Lawrence hair transplant.

Hair: Before and After

A wild golden mane was the thing that defined Joey’s looks since his days as a child star. All that changed once he grew up, and in 2007, at age thirty-one, Joey started sporting a shaved head.

The style suited him greatly, and not even die-hard fangirls could protest due to it, well, being Joey Lawrence!

But that changed with one appearance at an awards ceremony in June 2014. Joey appeared with a hairline that looked remarkably unnatural and phoned in. Many cried “hairpiece” at it.

The same happened again at an Annual’s People’s Choice Award ceremony in 2015. This time it had a different style of combing but still looked like it was the same hairpiece. So what is going on?

Joey Lawrence Hair Transplant: Has He Had One?

So did the Joey Lawrence hair transplant happen? Yes or no?

Based on an appearance of his from January 2016, you could say that yes, the Joey Lawrence hair transplant did take place.

During the premiere of the FX’s series American Crime Story, Joey appeared back with his shaved-head style. It was a welcome change, but many could not help but notice little hair growing out awkwardly at the front of his hairline.

This is a telltale sign of an FUE hair transplant meant to fill back a receding hairline. The jury rests.

Hair Loss in Men

Genetics is an important factor of hair loss, more important than age in some cases.

Some genes make us more sensitive towards dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a hormone that binds itself to the hair follicles in your scalp. Its presence there causes them to shrink until they can grow no longer slowly.

This makes DHT the cause of male pattern baldness.

Hair Transplant, a Permanent Solution

Cosmetic surgery came up with the ultimate solution for male pattern baldness.

A hair transplant allows relocating hair follicles from the back of the scalp into the balding area. This is done via extracting directly from the donor site and grafting them into the receiver site via microscopic incisions.

The results are natural-looking. But you might want to give at least nine months’ time to grow out completely before stepping into the limelight, unlike Joey Lawrence.
