He is a comedian, screenwriter, producer, and actor. Simon Pegg is a modern treasure of English comedy that no one can forget for co-writing and starting in ‘Shaun Of the Dead’. Though already known as a funny man for his role in ‘Spaced’, it was his hilarious bit like a dummy fighting a zombie apocalypse that won audiences over.
Since ‘Spaced’, Simon established a very productive collaboration with writer/director Edgar Wright. Besides ‘Shaun of the Dead’, he also started in Wright’s ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘The World’s End’, making us laugh in all three.
Simon Pegg comedic skills are something that no one could ever doubt of, but are his cheeky one-liners enough to keep a receding hairline away? Probably not. But he appears to have used other methods.
Hair: Before and After
Since his ‘Spaced’ days, Simon Pegg sported a receding hairline that left the dreaded ‘lonely island’ spot of hair in the front of his scalp. It became more noticeable during his starring role in 2004’s ‘Shaun Of The Dead’ and continuing so for 2007’s ‘Hot Fuzz’.
But, all of the sudden, during a Paris premiere for ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ in 2008, Simon’s island was no more. Instead of his signature lonely island on the front of the scalp, Pegg now had a fuller, connecting hairline at the top of his head.
Rumours started swirling after that.
Simon Pegg Hair Transplant: Has He Had One?
So, did the Simon Pegg Hair Transplant actually happen?
Simon has never confirmed or denied anything related to his subtle hair transformation, but people can tell.
Simon appears to have been a successful patient of a modest Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) transplant.
On an FUE transplant, the patient sides are shaven. The surgeon then surgically extracts healthy hair follicles from the back of the scalp. Then the doctor grafts those though microscopic incisions into the balding spot. The procedure doesn’t leave any visible scar.
Hair Loss in Men
The hair of a man’s head thins with each passing year.
But it’s not only ageing the sole reason for hair loss, but genetics is also an important piece of the puzzle.
The grade of sensibility one man has to the testosterone by-product dihydrotestosterone (DHT) depends on his genes.
DHT is a hormone that, once produced, proceeds to bind itself with hormone receptors on your hair follicles. The binding causes the hair to thin progressively until it ceases to grow entirely, causing male pattern baldness.
Hair Transplant, A Permanent Solution
As a correction to the male affliction that male pattern baldness is, surgeons came up with the hair transplant procedure.
Through it, a man has an opportunity to renovate his look and get a second chance at a youthful appearance on his hair.
Hair transplants have become popular, even a lot of celebrities underwent them. They can also be rather modest, like Pegg’s, or larger. The results of the FUE transplant, in particular, are natural-looking, following the natural pattern of growth of your hair.
